A Miracle Without Hallel

As Jews throughout the world celebrate the miracle of Purim the question arises as to why Hallel is not said on this happy day.

One of the answers given to this question in the Talmud (Megillah 14a) is that Hallel is not said for a miracle that took place outside of Eretz Yisrael. Even though we do say Hallel in regard to the miracle of the Exodus from Egypt, that event took place before Jews entered their Promised Land. Once they came to Eretz Yisrael no place outside of it was worthy of having Hallel said for a miracle that took place there.
