MOSHE -
"515 Ways To Get There"

Moshe's prayers to Hashem to be permitted to enter Eretz Yisrael begin with the word "Vaetchanan" whose numerical equivalent is 515. Our Sages point out that this was the number of supplications offered by Moshe for this privilege. Although his pleas were rejected, the commentaries note that they succeeded in creating 515 different ways for future Jews to realize their dreams of coming to Eretz Yisrael.

Moshe's own motive for wishing to enter the land, add our Sages, was that he longed for the opportunity of fulfilling those mitzvot which a Jew can fulfill only in Eretz Yisrael.
