Love of the Land - Tsipori
  Selections from classical Torah sources which express the special relationship between the People of Israel and Eretz Yisrael TSIPORI The modern settlement of Tsipori serves as a reminder of the ancient city of the same name that was the largest and most important city in Galilee during the first four centuries of the Common Era.
"Why was it called Tsipori?" ask our Sages
in the Talmud as they reflect on the relationship between this
name and the Hebrew word for bird. "Because," comes
the explanation, "It was perched like a bird on the top of
a mountain."
